Tymt — Opening the Gates to Crypto for all Gamers!
Tymt was developed from the onset with only one goal in mind: to become the next-generation game launcher that bridges the gaps between blockchain and traditional gaming.
Our only goal is to provide the gaming community with all the benefits of blockchain — without the risks and hurdles that come with it.
Gaming, and the gaming industry, have experienced booming growth as users worldwide play games of all types across a variety of platforms — and now, on blockchain. Ernst & Young business consultants estimate that more than one out of every three people on the planet — or over 2.9 billion people played a video game in 2021, and the global revenue for the industry exceeded $193 billion.
Blockchain technology has opened an entirely new world of possibilities for gaming. From ownership of game assets, through decentralisation, to playing to earn and virtual Metaverse worlds — gaming is taking a new turn. Metaverse will become a sustainable world, where people work, play, socialise, hang out, and make money — all at the same time.
But this feat requires a lot to be done — especially in terms of adaptability and access.
For a vast majority of gamers worldwide — downloading a crypto wallet, storing the passphrase securely, and basically learning a new way of looking at games and money — is a huge barrier.
Not to mention the “There be dragons” attitude to crypto and Web3 which still persists in society.
That’s another reason behind tymt — to provide the gaming community with all the benefits of blockchain — without the risks and hurdles that come with it.
Because we believe in the potential of blockchain, and keep working to increase its adoption.
What we are doing to make this happen
Currently tymt is in an experimental phase yet functional, with web3 capabilities and our own Metaverse on-chain game — District 53, onboard.
Currently the old version can be downloaded here: https://github.com/tymtltd/releases/releases/download/v0.1.0/tymtLauncher_0.1.0_x64_en-US.msi create a Wallet — or import your existing Solar one — and play!
You can also see how easy it is to set up, browse and install games, and manage your crypto assets on five different chains (SXP, BSC, Solana, ERC-20 and Polygon).
But this is just the beginning of a long journey. Here are some key developments we are working on at the moment and soon to be launched with a new release.
- Chain-agnostic Login
As creating a non-custodial web3 wallet comes with a burden of responsibilities — we want to enable everyone to experience the benefits of Web3 gaming, without the complexity associated with crypto. Users will be able to Sign-in with their chosen profile — and manage all their assets just like they are used to.
2. Game Store
Thanks to our experience in e-commerce, we are working to integrate crypto and fiat payments for games and game assets. This will allow Publishers to add another source of income, and Gamers will have the possibility to buy their favourite games using crypto and fiat just as easily.
3. Social Features
We know that in order to build a stronger sense of Community — we need to give our Players a stronger sense of identity. The on-chain Usernames will be available after the Solar Core 5.0 release — but even before that, we are already working to make tymt more social. After all — gaming is about the community, right? So we have just implemented and are testing a new chat module, and more tools that enable community building.
4. Developer Friendly Documentation
As our Core Development Team continues their work on Solar Core 5.0 and the SVM — we are also preparing a clear SDK for everyone who would wish to build a game using Solar — and publish it using tymt.
5. New, Dynamic UX and UI of the Launcher, and a New Website
It is very easy to fall into the trap of thinking that “everyone knows how to play a game”. That’s why the Development team works closely with Marketing to create a set of onboarding materials, which will help us get more new Players and Partners onboard.
Last, but not least — we are constantly working on adding new games and partners to our portfolio — in order to show and prove to the gaming industry that blockchain really should — and can — empower all gamers — not just a selected group of engineers and nerds.
